QUETTA: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during her daylong visit to Quetta on Tuesday assured the Balochistan authorities of Punjab government’s all possible cooperation and support for the elimination of terrorism and the development of the province.
This was her first official visit to Balochistan as the chief minister of Punjab.
While stressing that terrorism could only be defeated through collective resolve, the CM said Punjab stood shoulder to shoulder with Balochistan in overcoming both security and development challenges. She acknowledged the resilience, sacrifices and commitment of the people towards national unity and security.
“Balochistan requires perseverance and sustained efforts to overcome the challenges it is facing,” she said, while appreciating the efforts of Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti for public welfare and the restoration of peace, describing them as a solid foundation for long-term stability and development in the province.

She strongly condemned the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and pledged complete support from the Punjab government at all levels.
She also visited the FC headquarters and attended a meeting at Governor House.
She said that the determination of the FC personnel was commendable, seeing which boosted her morale. She assured full cooperation in the ongoing operation against Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan. She said she was confident terrorism would soon be eradicated from Balochistan, which would soon become a cradle of peace and prosperity.
On the occasion, she announced a Rs10 billion assistance package for the security forces.
At Governor House, the country’s overall law and order situation, recent political developments and the prevailing situation in Balochistan came under discussion.
The Punjab CM and Balochistan governor agreed on the importance of strengthening relations between the provinces.
