QUETTA: Balochistan Levies Force Director General Abdul Ghaffar Magsi dismissed 34 levies personnel effective immediately on Friday, citing charges of willful absenteeism, unprofessional conduct, and defiance of lawful orders.

Officials noted that the dismissed personnel originally belonged to various wings of the Levies Force, now integrated into the Balochistan Police.

They were stationed across multiple districts, including Khuzdar, Ziarat, Surab, Sherani, Noshki, Chagai, Lasbela, Kachhi, Kalat, Washuk, Kharan, Pishin and Mastung.

Sources indicated that prolonged absence from duty and negligence had caused significant administrative challenges, prompting authorities to take decisive action.

Separately, Balochistan Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir praised the heroism of the Balochistan police highlighting not only the force’s historic sacrifices but also the major role it played in safeguarding lives and property during a recent terrorist attack.
