SAHIWAL: The Pakpattan Saddar Police booked 37 youths, including 15 unidentified persons, for organising a solidarity rally with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on upcoming Feb 8 nationwide protest here at village 37/SP, Tehsil Pakpattan, the other day.

The demonstration was organised to demand the immediate release of PTI founder Imran Khan and other imprisoned party leaders.

The participants marched through the streets of Village 37/SP carrying PTI flags and placards in anticipation of the nationwide protest scheduled for Feb 8.

According to the police report, the protesters clashed with the officials when they attempted to stop the rally.

The authorities allege that the participants chanted slogans against the Punjab government, manhandled police officials and damaged a government vehicle.Constable Saleem reported that his wallet went missing.

Although the incident occurred and the FIR was registered on Feb 1, the legal action only came to light on Wednesday night.

The case was registered under sections 382, 440, 341, 148, and 149 of PPC and Section 16 of the MPO Ordinance-1960 at the complaint of Sub-Inspector Falik Sher of the Civil Line Police Station.

The FIR names 22 individuals, including Khizer Hayat, Fahad, Faisal, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Iqbal, Abid Ali, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Waqar, Inamur Rehman, Abu Amar, Khurram Shahzad, Abu Hurera, Muhammad Ismail, Waqar, Muhammad Ahmed, Malik Irfan, Ibrahim, Kalay Khan, and Sarfaraz, alongside 15 unidentified protesters.
