PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi on Wednesday announced an increase in the relief package for those hit by the military operation in Kurram district, doubling the amount from Rs110,000 to Rs230,000.

The CM also announced that displaced persons currently residing in host families’ homes will be provided with the same relief package.

Mr Afridi said that the longstanding problem of people with dual addresses would be resolved to ensure transparent and fair distribution of assistance.

He further stated that all the affected people would be provided relief on the same pattern as was given to the victims of Khyber district.

Emphasising unity and progress, the CM said that Pakistanis must set aside mutual and sectarian differences and focus on country’s development and stability.
