MIRAMSHAH, June 14: Officials on Wednesday said they had found the headless body of a man suspected by militants to be an ‘American spy’ in the Ghulam Khan area near the Afghan border in the North Waziristan Agency.

They said that the victim, identified as Assad Khan, was a resident of Afghanistan’s Khost province and had been kidnapped from Ghulam Khan bazaar about three days ago.

His body was found near the Tabai village along with a note which read: “A treatment befitting an American spy. No one will (be allowed to) perform his funeral prayer.”

The body was later taken to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, militants fired rockets on Razmak town in the North Waziristan Agency on Tuesday night. Residents said that a rocket hit a shop in the main town, but caused no major damage.
