OKARA, June 14: A five-year-old boy was killed when a participant in a marriage ceremony opened fire in jubilation on Wednesday.

Hujra Shah Muqeem police said Shahbaz, son of Muhammad Sharif of Dhole Choor village, Deepalpur, was present in the marriage ceremony of the daughter of his neighbour Muhammad Rafiq. When the marriage party returned one Ijaz started firing in jubilation and a bullet hit Shahbaz, killing him on the spot.

Police have registered a case against the absconding accused.
