SHIKARPUR, Oct 5: Leaders of various religious parties, speaking at the congregations of the Juma prayer here on Friday, expressed their determination to resist attacks on any Muslim country, particularly Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Maulana Abdul Qadir Panhwar and Maulana Osama bin Madani Soomro of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Maulana Sadaruddin Mehar of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Maulana Shafeeq Ahmed Qadri of the Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat and other leaders said Pakistan had achieved its status of becoming the first nuclear power in the Muslim world, but the United States and other western countries were trying to destroy its nuclear plants on the pretext of fighting against terrorism.
Terming the war planning of the US anti-Islamic tactics, they appealed to all the Muslim countries to unite to foil all such activities being carried out at the international level.
ZAKAT FUNDS: An open kutchery in connection with the distribution of cheques of the Guzara allowance from the Zakat funds was held at the committee hall of the district administration complex here on Thursday.
The chairman of the district Zakat and Ushr committee, Agha Haji Hayatullah, distributed cheques among 110 Mustehqeen, Rs1,500 to each, as the Guzara allowance for the period of three months.
RALLY HELD: On Friday, Mehran Teachers Association (MTA) activists took out a protest rally against the non-payments of salaries to the teachers.
The teachers threatened to extend the protest drive at district level if the payment of their salaries was delayed any longer and no action was taken against the responsible district account officer.
