LAHORE: Multan Commissioner Amir Karim Khan on Monday reviewed arrangements for the Nigehban Package, Ramazan Bazaars, Sahulat Bazaars and Dastarkhwans.
He was chairing a meeting regarding arrangements for Ramazan in Multan division. He directed that ration under the Nigehban Package should be delivered through a door-to-door strategy to ensure transparency and convenience for deserving families.
He instructed social mobilisers, union council secretaries and field staff to play an active role in the distribution process.
During the meeting, details of Sahulat Bazaars were sought and he also demanded reports regarding Sahulat Bazaars in Vehari, Lodhran and Khanewal districts.

The commissioner emphasised that at least one Ramazan Bazaar must be established in each district during the holy month and directed deputy commissioners to finalise the sites immediately.
He stressed that Ramadan Bazaars should be established with innovation, aesthetics and improved facilities rather than in a traditional manner.
He further directed that Ramadan Bazaars and Dastarkhwan should be made unique with prominent branding and directed the DCs to introduce new ideas for road illumination, beautification and green belts during the holy month.
The commissioner also directed that immediate meetings should be held with traders, ghee and flour mills and manufacturers to ensure maximum relief for the public.
He further instructed officials to hold meetings with green market dealers to reduce the prices of gram flour (besan), pulses, and other essential commodities.
Mr Khan directed that media briefings be held prior to Ramazan to inform the public about the Nigehban Package, ration cards, and subsidy details.Earlier, the commissioner also visited Multan Avenue to review development work. During the visit, the concerned officers briefed him on the progress of the project, construction standards, and related issues.
He directed the MDA director general to take effective action against encroachments and ordered to issue notices to shops constructed without approved building plans that fall within the road and service road alignment of Multan Avenue. He instructed strict action against constructions carried out in violation of approved maps and against those who failed to leave the required right of way.
He noted that shops which have maintained the right of way are located at an appropriate distance from the road, while failure to leave the right of way may lead to the blockage of the service road in the future.
He further directed owners of unauthorised constructions to get their building plans approved and ensure mandatory setbacks. He also instructed the executive engineer (highways) to include Mango Enclave in the fourth package of the Multan Avenue project.
Highway Superintending Engineer Ghulam Nabi, Executive Engineer Haider Ali and SDO Fatima were also present.
Commissioner Mr Khan also paid a surprise late-night visit to the emergency department of Nishtar Hospital and conducted a detailed inspection of various sections. He reviewed the X-ray room, triage area, emergency wards, and other facilities and interacted with patients and their attendants and inquired about the availability of medical facilities and medicines.
Commissioner Amir Karim Khan termed the overall cleanliness of the emergency satisfactory; however, he directed that cleanliness in washrooms be further improved.
He also ordered action against a doctor found using a mobile phone during duty hours and directed that notices regarding the ban on mobile phone usage be prominently displayed in the emergency and hospital wards.
The commissioner instructed that duty rosters, including the names of doctors, be displayed at prominent locations for the convenience of patients.
He further directed that proper X-ray records be maintained and banned parking inside the emergency gate and instructed the hospital administration to take immediate administrative measures in this regard.
