SHEIKHUPURA, June 13: The district police have failed to arrest a convict escaped from the prison here on Saturday. Ibraham Masih alias Hama, involved in 15 heinous crimes, including four murders, had reportedly tried to escape from sub-jail Nankana in 2005 but he was overpowered by a guard.

Prisons DIG Salik Majeed visited the district jail and recorded the statements of staffers and prisoners.

Meanwhile, MNA Haroon C. Qaisar and former MPA Rustam C. Qaisar in a joint press briefing here on Tuesday said the escaped convict had told the Nankana DSP that he intended to kill Haroon the former.

They expressed the fear that now Ibraham had escaped from the jail, he would definitely attack on the MNA and his family members.

TWO WOMEN KILLED: Two women were killed in separate incidents on Tuesday.

In first incident, unidentified men entered the house of widow Zuhra Perveen on Tariq Road and butchered her. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

Seven people reportedly shot dead a woman in Kalar village.

Police said Babar and his six accomplices entered the house of Sabir and opened fire on him. A bullet hit Sabir’s sister Shazia killing her on the spot.

Police said Babar and Sabir had a quarrel over a minor issue four days ago and the former attacked the latter to take his revenge.

Police concerned are investigating.
