Lawyer’s body found in Canal

OKARA, June 13: The body of Advocate Mian Anwaarul Haq, the local tax bar association president, was recovered after four days from the Lower Bari Doab Canal near Yousawala, Sahiwal district, on Tuesday.

He was the elder brother of former DBA president Chaudhry Riazul Haq.

The lawyer had reportedly committed suicide over some family worry. He is survived by a wife, two sons and a daughter.

He was laid to rest at Ghorey Shah graveyard. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers. Prominent among the participants were District Bar Association president Chaudhry Habibur Rehman, former provincial minister Rana Ikram Rabbani, MPA Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, former MPAs Chaudhry Ikramul Haq, Chaudhry Arif and Mian Muhammad Munir.

Qul will be held on Wednesday (today) at 8am at his residence in Mohallah Alipur.
