DERA ISMAIL KHAN, June 13: Five personnel of Punjab Police, including an assistant sub-inspector, were arrested after they raided a house in Basti Kanchkanwali in the jurisdiction of Cantt police station here on Tuesday.

The policemen were held and beaten up by the locals when they forcibly entered the house of Imran and tried to arrest him in connection with a case of kidnapping of a girl registered in the Shad Bagh police station in Lahore by the girl’s father.

Imran, who worked and lived in Lahore, had married the daughter of Din Mohammad on her will and brought her to his village in Dera Ismail Khan. Din Mohammad had lodged a case of kidnapping against him.
