KARACHI: The Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) has strongly condemned the government’s decision to join the so-called “Board of Peace” announced by US President Donald Trump, terming it a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and a blow to national sovereignty.

The condemnation came during a protest demonstration held after Friday prayers outside Khwaja Jami Masjid, Kharadar, where a large number of activists and supporters gathered.

Addressing the protest, MWM leaders said the decision was morally indefensible and fundamentally flawed in principle and in foreign policy.

They described Trump’s proposed Board of Peace for Palestine and Gaza as a “sham”, arguing that any externally imposed administrative structure for post-war Gaza would amount to denying the Palestinian people their right to self-determination.
