RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) launched beautification work on Grand Trunk Road from Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-I to Phase-II and in front of Bahria Town on Sunday.
On the special directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, beautification work has been initiated along G.T. Road.
The project is part of RDA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s urban outlook and transform major arteries into visually appealing and environmentally friendly corridors.
This initiative aims to improve the overall traffic experience and instil civic pride among residents and commuters.
The comprehensive beautification measures include plantation, development of green belts, painting and aesthetic enhancements, and the installation of pools.
Additionally, regular monitoring and maintenance mechanisms have been established to ensure the sustainability of the work. These efforts reflect RDA’s commitment to sustainable urban development, environmental protection, and adherence to approved planning standards.
Rawalpindi Development Authority DG said under the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, comprehensive steps are being taken for the beautification of the city.
She highlighted the importance of such initiatives for creating a harmonious urban environment where beauty, functionality, and sustainability coexist.
She further directed all concerned directorates to ensure timely completion, strict quality control, and effective long term maintenance of the project to maximise its benefits for the public.
“This urban enhancement initiative reflects RDA’s ongoing commitment to modern, sustainable city planning, environmental protection, and the improvement of public spaces, aiming to instil civic pride and enhance the overall quality of life in Rawalpindi,” she claimed.
