HYDERABAD, June 12: Sindh People’s Party Parliamentarians president Qaim Ali Shah has said that party chairperson Benazir Bhutto has decided that people, who left the party and joined the government, will not be accepted back in the party for 10 years.

He was speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of office-bearers of the party of Tando Mohammad Khan district and addressing workers on Monday.

He said that the Sindh chief minister had totally failed in controlling the law and order situation. He said that terrorist activities and lawlessness in the province were rampant.

He alleged that on the contrary, the chief minister was busy in victimising political opponents.

He said that the return of Ms Bhutto to her own motherland had become inevitable and warned that his party would not accept results of any elections which were held in her absence.

He said that the charter of democracy was a very important document and expressed the hope that all the ARD parties would sign the charter on July 2.

He said that the charter was the beginning of the end of the present regime.

He lashed out at the federal minister Kamil Agha for his utterances that the dam would be constructed even on the bodies of opponents.

He demanded that the minister should apologise to the nation for making such an irresponsible statement which could undermine the very unity of the country.

He exhorted the party workers to prepare themselves for sacrifices in the cause of democracy.

He warned the rulers that election malpractices in any form in the next elections would not be tolerated by people.

The provincial finance secretary of the party, Abdul Khaliq Soomro said that without the implementation of charter of democracy, the country could not be saved.

He said that it had become inevitable to implement the philosophy of late Z.A. Bhutto for the reconstruction of the country.

The district president of the party, Haji Amin Lakho, former provincial minister Mohsin Shah Bukhari, former senator Abdul Latif Ansari, MPAs Abdul Qadir Soomro and Mohammad Nawaz Chandio and leaders of the Doctors Forum and People’s Youth also spoke on the occasion.

COORDINATOR: The newly-appointed divisional coordinator of the PPP, Makhdoom Jamiluzzaman, has expressed gratitude to party chairperson Benazir Bhutto for reposing confidence and trust in him.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that he would do his utmost to come up to expectations of the chairperson.

He said that his priorities would be to restore discipline in the party rank and file and to disseminate message of Ms Bhutto up to the village level.

He urged the party workers to prepare themselves for according a rousing reception to the party chairperson who was likely to return to the country.

He demanded that all the cases against Ms Bhutto should be brought to an end and her media trail should be immediately stopped.
