TAXILA: Rescue 1122 Attock marked 16 years of its emergency response and humanitarian service with a ceremony held to highlight the department’s commitment to saving lives and serving the public in times of crisis.

The event brought together senior civil and police officials, community leaders and a large number of Rescue 1122 officers and rescuers.

District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Sardar Mowarhan Khan and Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anil Saeed were chief guests.

Addressing the gathering, the DPO paid tribute to Rescue 1122, terming it one of the most reliable emergency services.

“Rescue 1122 has become a symbol of hope in moments of despair. Its swift response, professional handling of emergencies and selfless dedication have saved countless lives and strengthened public confidence in state institutions,” he said.

“The men and women of Rescue 1122 are true frontline heroes who run towards danger when everyone else is running away. Their courage, discipline and sense of duty stand as a shining example of selfless public service,” he added.

The additional deputy commissioner also commended the rescuers for their courage, discipline and round-the-clock readiness, noting that their services go far beyond duty.

“Working in high-risk and stressful conditions, Rescue 1122 personnel continue to serve humanity with passion and resilience. Their sacrifices and commitment deserve sincere appreciation,” he remarked.

“Every siren of Rescue 1122 carries hope for the distressed. The professionalism and compassion shown by these rescuers during critical moments deserve the highest respect and gratitude from society,” said Shahzad Niaz Khokar, deputy director information.

“In disasters, accidents and medical emergencies, Rescue 1122 personnel work under immense pressure, yet they never compromise on human dignity or service excellence. Their bravery has saved innumerable families from lifelong grief,” he added.

Earlier, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dr Mian Mohammad Ashfaq said the emergency service effectively responded to a wide range of emergencies, from accidents and fires to medical crises, setting a benchmark for efficiency and professionalism. He said Rescue 1122 Attock during the year 2025 responded to 45,408 emergencies, including 3,840 traffic accidents, 35,394 medical emergencies, 802 fire incidents, 433 crime-related emergencies, nine drowning cases and 4,930 other incidents.

“The 16-year journey of Rescue 1122 Attock is a story written with sweat, sacrifice and countless lives saved. Their dedication has transformed emergency response into a trusted institution of hope,” Dr Ashfaq stated. He said the department’s success was rooted in teamwork, continuous training and a strong sense of public service.

On the occasion, appreciation certificates were awarded to rescuers who demonstrated outstanding performance during 2025.
