Nomination papers rejected

GUJRANWALA, June 9: Nomination papers of five aspirants for the seat of Azad Kashmir assembly (Gujranwala-3) were rejected after scrutiny by the district returning officer here on Friday.

At least 15 aspirants had filed their nomination papers while court rejected papers of Dr Shaukat Aziz, Mufti Muhammad Younas, Akhter Ali, Abdul Rauf and Raja Imtiaz Ahmed. The rejected aspirants said that they would move the Lahore High Court against the decision. The general elections for the AJK assembly will be held in July.

CONDOLENCE: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi visited Ahmad Nagar town to condole with National Assembly’s Kashmir Committee chairman Hamid Nasir Chattha the death of his mother and grandmother of Gujranwala nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha on Friday.

The chief minister offered Fateha and prayed that may Allah rest the departed soul in peace and grant courage to the family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
