NAWABSHAH/Larkana: Awami Tehreek (AT) central president advocate Vasand Thari has announced to hold a massive march in Larkana on Dec 21 against what he described as anti-Sindh steps taken by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

He said the protest would be held against ‘constitutional dictatorship’, the 27th Constitutional Amendment, corporate farming projects, new canals, destruction of the judiciary, plunder of Sindh’s resources and the imposed lawlessness in the province.

Addressing a press conference at Naushahro Feroze on Friday, he strongly criticised the PPP for their alleged fascist rule.

Speaking on the occasion, AT’s central media secretary Kashif Mallah, Hussain Soomro, AT Naushahro Feroze district president Latif Bhatti and Sarwar Sindhi said the PPP government had left behind even the world’s worst fascist rulers.

They said Sindh had been handed over to criminals and armed gangs. Robberies in houses, shops and markets had become routine, and now looting of passenger vehicles had also turned into a daily occurrence.

They alleged that the lawlessness was the direct result of the PPP government’s patronage of criminals.

In Larkana, Sindhyani Tehreek central president Ms Umrah Samoon, along with advocate Pirah Soomro, Pirah Mallah and leaders of the AT, announced that a march would be held in Larkana Dec 21 against the alleged plan to divide Sindh.

Addressing a press conference at the Larkana Press Club on Friday, they said the situation in Sindh was well known to everyone. They stated that Sindh lacked education, employment and water, while its cities had turned into heaps of garbage.

They alleged that first the PPP and federal government jointly devised a plan to construct canals on the Indus River and then passed the Peca to restrict freedom of expression.

However, they said, the conscious people of Sindh launched a struggle against the controversial canals and forced the government to withdraw the decision.
