LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) engineers have developed “Pakistan’s first AI-powered legal platform DigiLawyer,” introducing a new generation of intelligent legal associates designed specifically for the country’s legal system.

Built with a deep understanding of Pakistani laws and judicial processes, DigiLawyer aims to help lawyers prepare strong cases, reduce court delays, and significantly improve the delivery of justice. Unlike general-purpose AI tools, which lack jurisdictional awareness of Pakistani law and raise concerns regarding accuracy and confidentiality, DigiLawyer offers a secure, reliable, and locally grounded solution for legal professionals.

Legal experts note that lawyers often spend more than 30 hours each week navigating outdated databases and manually researching and drafting documents. This inefficiency weakens case preparation and contributes to repeated adjournments and judicial backlogs. DigiLawyer addresses these challenges by automating repetitive legal tasks and enabling faster, more accurate legal work.

The platform is already being used by government institutions, the judiciary, and leading law firms, reflecting growing confidence in UET-led innovation. DigiLawyer has been developed by a multidisciplinary founding team of UET engineers and legal experts.
