SUKKUR: A young TikToker was found shot dead in the warehouse of a garment shop within the jurisdiction of the A-Section police station in Khairpur district, officials said.

The bullet-riddled body of Umair Abbasi, who also ran the garments shop, was recovered on Saturday night from the warehouse above his shop in Shahi Bazaar.

Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the scene and shifted the body to the the Civil Hospital Khairpur for a post-mortem examination.

After the examination, the body was handed over to the legal heirs.

Rumours circulating in the area suggested that Abbasi took his own life.

Before the alleged suicide, he had posted a video on social media in which he named certain friends, claiming they had blackmailed him and that he was suffering from depression and financial difficulties.

In the video, he said that he had complained to local elders and authorities in Khairpur about the actions of the suspects, but no one heeded his pleas, which caused him severe distress and led him to take this step.

Meanwhile, Abbasi’s family contended that he had been murdered as part of a conspiracy.

They have demanded an inquiry into the incident and called for the arrest of those responsible.

Police have taken possession of the deceased’s pistol and mobile phone from the scene.

Police sources said the matter was under investigation from all angles, and the actual cause would only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received.
