Beenish clinches double crown

KARACHI, June 6: Beenish Sharif clinched women's singles title in Karachi Regional badminton championship with 2-1 victory over Mehwish Zaman at National Training Coaching Centre on Tuesday.

Later, pairing together, Beenish and Mehwish won doubles title by defeating Sofia Mughal and Humaira Raees 2-1.

Women’s singles: Beenish bt Mehwish 21-19, 17-21, 22-20.

Women’s doubles: Beenish/Mehwish bt Sofia/Humaira 21-17, 18-21, 22-20.

Men's singles semifinals: Wasim Ismail bt Anjum Nisar 21-13, 21-17; Harrison Burnet bt Faraz Khurshid 21-16, 21-18.

Men’s doubles semifinals: Shakeel Hayat/Khawaja Iqbal bt Luqman Javed/Mohammad Akram 21-12, 21-18; Anisur Rehman/Aqib Masood bt Khalid Saleem/Faraz Khurshid 21-17, 21-17.—APP
