DADU, June 5: The information secretary of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Punjab, MPA Farzana Raja has said that the Kalabagh or any other dam should not be built on the Indus river because three provincial assemblies have passed resolutions against them.

PPP (ladies wing) district president Kulsoom Chandio, general secretary Almas Panhwar and PPP district information secretary Abdul Haq Brohi were present on the occasion.

She said that influential landlords were stealing water from both sides of Indus River from Taunsa to Guddu barrage and Irsa had made public such report of water stealing.

She said that the NAB was made to defame PPP and added that its leaders were being politically victimised.

She said that small regional parties had lost their identity and united under the banner of PML-Q but the ARD and the PPP would continue their struggle for the restoration of democracy in the country.

She said that the charter of democracy was signed by PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and PML-N president Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif for the restoration of democracy in the country.

She said that the federal government had published wrong economic survey report showing incorrect figures, adding that poverty had increased and the people were living below the poverty line in the country.
