RAHIM YAR KHAN, June 4: A man was killed and another injured when a speeding gas-tanker collided with a trailer on the highway near Yousafabad, some 25 kilometres from here, on Sunday.

Reports said a gas carrier (PL-293) was heading towards Lahore from Karachi when its driver Muhammad Hafeez lost control over the steering as a result of which it collided with the trailer (PF-1153). Tanker driver Nafees died on his way to hospital while Nasir and his helpers Farhad and Shahzeb suffered injuries.

They were taken to Mianwali Quereshiyan rural health centre and were discharged after the first-aid treatment. The traffic on the highway remained suspended for eight hours. — Correspondent
