ISLAMABAD, June 3: A protest lodged by Lashings over what the club claimed were unregistered players fielded by CDA marred the start of the CDA Margalla Festival cricket tournament on Saturday.

Lashings officials said that CDA had played three players who were not registered with the Islamabad Cricket Association. Among the three was Sohail Aftab who belted a blazing unbeaten 134 in his side's 163-run victory.

CDA hit up 348 for four and then restricted their opponents to 185 for five in the allotted 40 overs. Moiz Shah top scored for Lashings with a sizzling knock of 55 in which he stroked three sixes and four boundaries.

Summarised scores:

CDA 348-4 (Sohail Aftab 134 not out, Asif 84; Fahad Shah, Amir Khan and M. Hasnain one wkt each); Lashings 185-5 (Moiz Shah 55; Yasir Ishfaq two wkts).
