RAWALPINDI: Police have devised a comprehensive security and traffic plan, deploying over 5,500 personnel to ensure foolproof protection during the Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe cricket tri-series and practice sessions at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

A police spokesman said that, following the instructions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, strict security and traffic arrangements have been implemented for the Pakistan–Sri Lanka–Zimbabwe Cricket Tri-Series and practice sessions at the stadium.

According to the plan, more than 5,500 personnel of Rawalpindi police will perform security and traffic duties, while around 350 officials and officers from the City Traffic Police will be on duty to facilitate traffic flow.

Senior police officers will supervise the arrangements and brief law enforcement personnel on the field. As part of the enhanced security measures, snipers have been deployed on rooftops, and monitoring is being carried out through CCTV cameras from a dedicated control room.

Police station mobiles, elite force units, and dolphin squads are conducting regular patrols around the stadium. The police said effective traffic arrangements have been made for the convenience of citizens, ensuring foolproof security and smooth movement during the cricket tri-series.

The first ODI match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, amid tight security. The City Traffic Police have also issued a traffic diversion plan for the ODI matches.

Residents of the garrison city, already facing difficulties due to the ongoing Katchehry Chowk remodeling project, are likely to experience further inconvenience as diversions are implemented around the stadium in the coming days.
