GUJRANWALA, June 3: A minor girl was killed while four others, including two children, sustained injuries in a scrap bomb blast here on Saturday at Theri Sansi.

Reports said Khursheed Ahmad along with his children was sorting out scrap at the godown of his house. Suddenly, an explosive device went off, killing Robina (5) on the spot and injuring Bilal (7), Qasim (8), Shaukat and Khursheed.

The injured were rushed to DHQ hospital from where Bilal was referred to Mayo Hospital, Lahore due to his critical condition.

ARRESTED: The federal investigation agency (FIA) claimed on Saturday to have arrested three more human smugglers during a raid.

Reports said complainants Noor Muhammad of Mandi Bahauddin, Allah Ditta of Gujrat and Irfan Masih of Kamoki informed FIA deputy-director Akram Naeem Bharoka that Qamar Abbas, Shafqat Najeeb and Jang Bahadar got Rs400,000 collectively for sending them abroad. They said the accused did not send them abroad and refused to return their money.

An FIA team, led by SI Ahmer Naeem Sundho and Ajmal Sundho, conducted a raid and arrested them.

CHARGE SHEET: A local court on Saturday charge-sheeted PML women wing district president Zubaida Ehsan, Satellite Town SHO Shahbaz Hinjra and two others for allegedly grabbing the house of a man.

Reports said one M.Younis filed a private complaint with the court, stating that he had bought a house worth Rs1 million from a woman, Rehana Bibi. But the ruling party leader grabbed it with the help of police.

The court charge-sheeted the accused and adjourned the case till June 13.

CASE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Wamiq Javed on Saturday directed city tehsildar Mahmood Ahmad Bhatti to approach the police for registration of a case against anti-corruption establishment (ACE) officials for humiliating the latter.

Reports said revenue patwaris went on strike against the misbehaviour of ACE officials with their colleagues and demanded registration of a case against responsible officers.

Complainant Mahmood Ahmad Bhatti said ACE assistant-director Tasir Ahmad, additional-director Chaudhary Jamil and Shahid Nawaz Warriach humiliated the revenue officials during an official task and allegedly detained them illegally.
