TOBA TEK SINGH: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-backed former MPA from Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad PP-98, Junaid Afzal Sahi courted arrest at Civil Lines police station, Faisalabad, on Tuesday.

He had been at large since he was handed down three-year imprisonment by Faisalabad anti-terrorism court. Police produced him before the ATC and the court sent him to district jail to undergo his sentence.

Sources close to Sahi said he would file an appeal before the Lahore High Court against his sentence and would also file another petition to seek a stay order against by-election being held on his seat on Nov 23.

Meanwhile, sources close to independent candidate for NA-96, Jaranwala by-election ex-MNA Malik Nawab Sher Waseer said police raided his farm house to arrest Waseer but he was not found there. They said police were forcing him to withdraw his candidature in favour of PML-N ticket holder Bilal Badar Chaudhry, the brother of federal minister Talal Chaudhry.
