LAHORE: The Lahore Digital Arts Festival (LDF) will open its fourth edition, Breathing Algorithms, on Thursday (today) at the Alliance Française Lahore, reaffirming its commitment to fostering dialogue between art and digital innovation.

Co-curated by Najam-Ul Assar and Sarah Rajper, Breathing Algorithms is conceived as a space where artists, technologists, and thinkers re-imagine algorithms as instruments of empathy, care, and climate consciousness.The opening event is free and open to the public, inviting audiences to experience a unique convergence of art, technology and ecology.

Presented in collaboration with Novembre Numérique, the French Embassy in Pakistan, and the Alliance Française de Lahore, the festival runs from Nov 6-9 across multiple venues in Lahore.

This year’s edition explores the intersections of artificial intelligence, climate change, and cultural identity, featuring new media works, interactive installations, and virtual reality experiences by artists from over seven countries. Visitors can expect thought-provoking projects addressing environmental degradation, digital ethics, gender, and the future of creativity in an algorithmic age.

Participating artists include Aamina Hashmi (Poday Wali), Areesha Khuwaja, Bahman Fakouri, Fajr Faisal, Hamza Bajwa, Haris Hidayat Ullah, Huzaifa Ahmad, Isabelle Arvers, John Desnoyers-Stewart, M4HK, Megan Smith, Mikhail Margolis, Miraal Habib, Mishaim Gardezi, Muhammad Bux, Samina Kausar Ansari, Ujala Khan, and Zuha Farooq.

Exhibitions and public programmes will take place across multiple venues in Lahore, including the Alliance Française Lahore, Aangun Cultural Center, R Space, and Beaconhouse National University (BNU).

Happy Khush Hogya: International Punjabi comedy film “Happy Khush Hogya” will be released across Punjab, including Lahore, on Friday, November 7 (tomorrow).

The film has been officially cleared for release by the federal and Punjab film censor boards.

Written by renowned (Carry On Jutta fame) screenwriter Naresh Kathooria, who is also doing the title role, ‘Happy Khush Hogya’ combines sharp humour with a socially relevant narrative.

Also featuring Alish Alish, Sanjeev Attri, Gurpreet Bhangu, and a talented supporting cast, the film humorously explores themes of inheritance, shortcuts to success, and the consequences of greed, through engaging performances and witty storytelling.

Sheikh Abid Rasheed, executive director of distribution club, says the film offers a complete entertainment experience, balancing laughter, relatable characters and social awareness.

He says it is expected to provide audiences with a refreshing and enjoyable cinematic experience.
