KARACHI, June 3: President of the Pakistan People’s Party, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has termed ‘absurd’ the statement of Dr Farooq Sattar that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was the ‘real heir to Bhuttoism’.

Mr Shah, in a statement issued on Saturday, said that the MQM’s politics were ethnic-oriented with a certain degree of terrorism being part of it, while Bhuttoism was the creed of oppressed and downtrodden people providing them a unified solution to all their problems.

“It is strange that MQM leaders have suddenly developed affection for the Bhuttoism and that, too, at a time when they are holding a public meeting in Lyari, the citadel of Bhuttoism… but the people of Lyari or any part of Sindh could not be befooled through such tactics,” Mr Shah remarked.

He asked Dr Farooq Sattar to stop comparing “their fascism with people’s ideology of Bhuttoism”, adding: “only people of Pakistan and followers of the PPP are the real heirs of Bhuttoism.”
