Gas price rise from July 1

KARACHI, June 2: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has said that the price increase of Rs 29.80/MMBTU allowed by Ogra for the financial year 2006-07, against solicited rise of Rs 31.52/MMBTU shall be effective from July 1, 2006 after government’s approval.

The SSGC spokesman said here on Friday, the government may elect to adjust or rationalise prices, as it deems fit, to reduce the impact on certain categories of customers including industrial customers in accordance with its national economic policy.—APP
