Pakistan pin hope on Aisam, Asim

LAHORE, Feb 7: The Malaysian No. 1 player  Hazuan Hizan will face Pakistan’s No. 2 player Asim Shafik in the  first match of the Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group II, first round tie  to be held a the National Tennis Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from Feb 8 to 10.

According to information received here, Pakistan No.1 Aisam-ul-Haq will meet Malaysian No. 2 Si Yew Ming also on the opening day.

On the second day Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq and Aqeel Khan will tackle Malaysia’s Jamal Darmadi and Hazuan Hizan.

Except,  Aisam-ul-Haq  no other Pakistani player  has  much experience of playing under the covered hard court.

In case Pakistan wins this tie then they  will face the winner of Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei in the second round. The choice of venue for that tie will be with Pakistan.
