Wasim rescues Rest of Punjab

KARACHI, Feb 7: An unbeaten 80 by Wasim Majeed helped Rest of Punjab recovered to 232 for seven in their first innings in the Quaid Trophy tie against Islamabad at Gymkhana Cricket Ground in Okara Thursday.

According to a message received here, Punjab collapsed to 85 for five before Wasim and skipper Mohammad Fazil (45) lifted their side out of trouble by putting on 109 for the sixth wicket.

Islamabad skipper Rao Iftikhar decided to bowl first after winning the toss at the second venue to stage first-class match for the first time Thursday.
