LARKANA, May 31: District Nazim Mohammad Bakhsh Arijo has asked executive district officers (EDOs) to prepare pro-people budgetary proposals.

The nazim asked the EDOs of different departments in a meeting on Tuesday to focus on mitigating peoples’ sufferings, and directed them to deposit collected funds under the district government head under the Local Government Ordinance, instead of provincial pool.

A notification to this effect would soon be issued to empower the EDOs to use funds for the welfare of people and strengthen institutions in public interest, he said.

DCO Mohammad Naseer Jamali directed the EDOs to ensure the recovery of existing taxes, revenue and government dues in time so that the funds could be spent on peoples’ welfare.

The meeting decided that the dead-stock registers would be maintained properly and reports would be sent to district nazim and DCO offices within 15 days.

Besides, the lists of condemned vehicles with a certificate duly verified by the motor–vehicle inspector would be sent to DCO so that such vehicles might be auctioned by July 15 after going through legal formalities.
