PESHAWAR, May 30: The health department will observe the World No-Tobacco Day on Wednesday in collaboration with the World Health Organisation. A function would be held at the directorate of health where health experts will speak on harmful effects of smoking.

The WHO in a press release here on Tuesday said that the cause of global public health was served by the United Nations and its member states through WHO’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which was a powerful tool to combat tobacco industry.

The day, it said, was being observed to promote public awareness about the existence of a large variety of harmful tobacco products, to help people get accurate information about tobacco products.
