FAISALABAD, May 29: The mother of a gang-rape victim on Monday threatened to commit suicide in front of the Chief Minister House if the case was not registered against the accused.

Widow Asghari Bibi of Chak 198-GB (Mamukanjan), Tandlianwala tehsil, said that her daughter ‘S’ was abducted by five men of a landlord family on last Thursday.

Later, the vagabonds gang-raped her daughter at the outhouse of the landlord. Leaving the girl unconscious, the accused threatened that the family would be kicked out of the village if they raised the issue.

With tears in her eyes, the woman claimed that she had been running from pillar to post for the last four days for the registration of a case against the accused, but to no avail.

She alleged that the Chaudhris and some notables had offered her Rs100,000 for withdrawing the application from the police station, but she would not compromise at any cost.

The widow demanded that the Punjab chief minister and the governor should take personal interest in the matter and provide justice to the orphan girl.
