LAHORE, May 28: The PPP will launch a month-long campaign in the city from June 1 against skyrocketing prices. cAt a news conference here on Sunday, president Haji Azizur Rahman Chan said workers’ meetings would be held in every zone of the city in which speakers would highlight the failures of the government.

The deteriorating law and order situation would be another subject the speakers would address, he said. Samiullah Khan, Zakariya Butt, Zafar Masood Bhatty, Ehsan Ganjial and Akbnar Khan were also present. Chan said every meeting would conclude with a demand that the government step down on account of its countless failures.

Programmes would also be organised throughout the month in connection with the birthday of Ms Benazir Bhutto. Cakes would be cut, and the services of the chairperson for the country highlighted, he said.

The major ceremony in this regard would be held on June 21 at the party’s Lahore office.
