NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 26: The country has surplus electricity and, therefore, loadshedding would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against the superintending engineers concerned.

This was stated by Federal minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi after inaugurating the 132kv grid station at New Jatoi, Moro, on Friday.

He said that the federal government had allocated Rs32 billion for construction of 18 grid stations and extension of existing grid stations in the country during the current fiscal. Anwar Khalid, member Wapda, said that the grid station was completed at a cost of Rs90 million within a short span of 11 months.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Nazim of Naushahro Feroze, Ghulam Rasool Jatoi, thanked the federal minister for establishing the grid station and demanded to declare Moro as Hesco’s new sub-division which was accepted by the minister.

The minister also announced one month’s bonus for the Hesco staff engaged in establishment of the New Jatoi grid station.

Later, the federal minister held a meeting with Wapda officers which was attended by Hesco chief Maqbool Ahmed Khwaja, Khalid Anwar, Hesco chief engineer Arshad Chughtai and others.
