The UN Security Council will convene an emergency session at the request of Algeria and Pakistan to discuss Israel’s strikes on a “residential compound in Doha” that targeted Hamas members, Al Jazeera reports.

Citing UN diplomatic sources, Al Jazeera said UNSC members are expected to receive a briefing on Wednesday from senior UN officials on the latest developments and the seriousness of the Israeli escalation.
