Published May 26, 2006

KARACHI, May 25: The Jamshed Town Administration is banning the parking of vehicles beyond permissible limits on the new M A Jinnah Road.

This was stated by the Nazim of Jamshed Town, Arif Ajakia, in a meeting with car showroom owners of Khalid Bin Walid and the New M A Jinnah roads.

Ajakia said that only one lane parking would be allowed. Parking beyond that would be restricted on the road and in the streets, he added.

He made it clear that a lifter would remain present there to lift vehicles found parked beyond the permissible space and fine would be imposed on violators. The first time fine will be Rs500.

He said if violation was committed more than once, the amount of fine will be doubled, and after continuous repetition, the vehicle would be confiscated.

Then nazim said that in order to facilitate showroom owners, they would be permitted to park vehicles at the Tanki Ground opposite to Islamia College till June 30.

Meanwhile, the Jamshed Town administration has suggested the city government to shift the showrooms shifted outside city limits after June 30.

Ajakaia also warned that vehicles confiscated in the course would be auctioned.—APP
