LAHORE: On directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, applications have been invited for the allotment of flats to industrial workers.

The CM has directed for allocating a three per cent quota for the widows of deceased industrial workers, while disabled workers will also have a two per cent quota in the flat allotment process.

In the Phase-I, applications have been invited from industrial workers of Lahore and Kasur districts for the purpose. The process has started at Workers Welfare Complex, Sundar Industrial Estate, Kasur, where 750 flats will be given free of cost to industrial workers.

The chief minister noted, “Facility to get application forms from the website from home for industrial workers of Lahore and Kasur districts has been launched.”

She added, “Forms can also be obtained from the office of director labour welfare (north) and deputy director labour welfare kasur for south for free.” She highlighted, “Last date for the submission of applications is Sept 8.”

Two-thirds of the housing unit quota has been fixed for industrial workers of Kasur district and one-third for workers of Lahore district. She was apprised by the authorities concerned that workers can apply from home through online links: www.pwwf.punjab.gov.pk and www.labour.punjab.gov.pk.

Industrial workers can also contact 049-2724261, 0331-4436944, in addition to Punjab Welfare Fund number 042-99260240 for seeking guidance and necessary information, says a press release.
