The director of ambulance and emergency services in Gaza, Fares Afaneh, has told Al Jazeera about the challenges his rescue workers and residents are facing.
“The [Israeli] occupation prevents our vehicles from entering to rescue civilians in the areas it has targeted,” he said.
“Displaced people don’t know where to go due to the lack of safe areas in the Gaza Strip. Hospitals are damaged and severely lack supplies and medical staff.”
