PESHAWAR, May 23: Police on Tuesday shot dead an Afghan robber during an encounter and arrested his two accomplices in Kacha Ghari refugee camp. University Town police conducted a raid after receiving information about the presence of a gang of robbers in the refugee camp.

Upon seeing the police party, the Afghan robbers opened indiscriminate fire on law-enforcement personnel. The police fired back, killing one of the robbers who was identified as Ghulam Mohammad alias Pranag, son of Qasim.

Two of his accomplices Said Agha alias Noor Agha, son of detained Afghan robber Gul Agha, and Allah Mohammad alias Sheno, son of Qasim, were arrested.
