LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) on Saturday removed the chief executive officer (CEO) of District Education Authority (DEA) Mianwali and suspended a principal in Sargodha over negligence.

On the directives of Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Secretary School Education Khalid Nazir conducted surprise visits to schools in several districts to review facilities and administrative performance.

During the inspections, CEO Education Mianwali Ahmad Yar was removed from his post for providing incorrect data regarding missing facilities. He has been directed to immediately report to the School Education Department.

In a separate action, Principal of Farogh-i-Taleem Girls High School Sargodha, Uzma Ambreen, was also suspended on the spot over poor cleanliness arrangements, staff absenteeism and negligence in other school matters. She has also been instructed to report to the department without delay.
