QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reiterated the army’s resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Balochistan in their pursuit of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.

He expressed these views during his visit to Turbat, the headquarters of Kech district, where he reviewed the prevailing security situation, assessed development initiatives, and reinforced coordination between military and civil institutions for the province’s stability and progress.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, the acting inspector general of police and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The COAS was given a comprehensive briefing on security dynamics, including the threat perspective and successful operations against Fitna al-Hindustan, as well as ongoing development projects and efforts to improve socio-economic conditions in southern Balochistan.

Stresses need for good governance, infrastructure development

The term Fitna al-Hindustan is a phrase coined by the military, aimed at framing India’s role in terrorism as a deliberate destabilisation strategy.

During his interaction with the chief minister and civil administration representatives, Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the importance of good governance, infrastructure development, and inclusive, people-centric progress.

He emphasised that joint civil-military efforts are vital in addressing the challenges faced by the people of Balochistan and reaffirmed the army’s unwavering support for all initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic development in the province.

While interacting with troops, the COAS appreciated their high morale, operational readiness, and steadfast commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty.

He commended their role in ensuring peace and stability in the region despite difficult circumstances.

Upon his arrival, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by the Balochistan corps commander.
