Al Jazeera Arabic has obtained footage showing Israeli tanks advancing into the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City in northern Gaza, signalling that it is expanding its ground invasion of the area.

Sabra is close to the besieged Zeitoun neighbourhood, which has been increasingly targeted by the Israeli army over the past week as it moves to seize Gaza City.

A source at the al-Ahli Hospital told Al Jazeera that a child was killed in the latest Israeli bombardment of Sabra in the past several hours.

The civil defence in Gaza also reported that three people were wounded after Israeli forces bombed tents housing displaced people in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
