2 brothers shot dead

NAWABSHAH, May 22: Armed men shot dead two brothers when they were waiting for a bus at a bus-stand in the Khair Shah village on Monday. Reports said that Shaukat Jamali, 30, and Nazeer Ahmed, 40, sons of Shahid Jamali, were going to the court to attend a hearing when the unknown assailants shot them dead.

Police claimed that the double murder was an offshoot of an old enmity over a piece of land.

Another brother of the victims, Mohammad Nawaz, lodged an FIR at the taluka police station under sections 302, 324, 148, 149, 337 H-II of the Qisas and Diyat Ordinance and sections 114, 504 of the PPC against eight men he identified as Imtiaz, Abdul Hakim, Abdul Latif, Mohammad Hanif, Bakhtiar Khan, Niaz Hussain alias Mughal, Ghulam Mustafa and Ali Bux Jamali.

Police have so far made no arrest.

Booked: The Nawabshah police on Sunday booked eight persons for kidnapping a girl.
