KARACHI, May 22: Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Bukhari on Monday laid the foundation stone of primary section at a public school in North Karachi. The project, spread over 12490sq-ft includes construction of 10 classrooms and an administration block, would cost Rs27 million. It is expected to be completed in May 2007.

Shoaib Bukhari recalled that foundation stone of public school was laid in 1991-92 and it became functional in 1999 when education started at secondary level. He said that the decision was made in 2003 to start education at primary level and classes started in public school from last year without a building.

However, he pointed out, proper planning was carried out for classrooms and ultimately foundation stone was laid.–PPI
