Police said the suspects, who kidnapped an eight-year-old boy from Riaz Al-Khatib Colony in Shahpur four days ago for ransom, were being taken to recover weapons.
Police claimed that their accomplices opened fire on the police party to free them.
Police said deceased Mazhar was involved in the kidnap-for-ransom case of a child.
The second deceased suspect was identified as Ahmed Raza Shah, who the police claimed was involved in the murder of a veterinary doctor besides kidnapping.

Both suspects died by the firing of their accomplices, police claimed.
Police said the bodies of the deceased were shifted to the hospital and search for the absconding attackers was underway.
Police said both accused belonged to the Shahpur tehsil of Sargodha. Shahpur Police have registered a case of firing on the police and double murder against the attackers.
RAPE: A young married girl has alleged that her father-in-law has been raping her and she is now six-month pregnant with his child.
According to the complainant, her marriage took place eight months ago. She said her husband was an employee of a local landlord who left his job and ran away. She claimed that since then her father-in-law was continuously raping her and she was now pregnant with his child.
She alleged that her father-in-law was now threatening to kill her and the child.
The Atta Shaheed police station had registered a case against the father-in-law and investigation was ongoing under the supervision of the SP (investigation).
Police said a medical examination of the victim had been conducted but rape could not be confirmed by the forensic laboratory because of the time lapse between the incident and her coming forward. However, the officials said the veracity of the claim would now be ascertained after the birth of the child through DNA testing.
ARRESTED: As many as eight shopkeepers have been arrested in Sargodha for selling chicken meat at higher prices.
As per details, Bhalwal Assistant Commissioner Mudassar Mumtaz made the arrests during a crackdown against those selling chicken meat at rates higher than the fixed price. Cases had also been registered against the accused.
Mr Mumtaz said the district administration was determined to provide relief to the people. He said that illegal profiteering and violation of the government price list would not be tolerated. The supply of all food items including chicken meat at the fixed prices would be ensured, he added.
