SUKKUR: A new local train service is set to begin for the people of Rohri and Sukkur.

The decision was taken at a meeting of Sukkur District Council Chairman Syed Kumail Haider Shah with Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) Jamshed Alam and other officials.

During the meeting, an agreement was also reached on the construction of platforms and provision of other facilities for passengers.

Named “Jamalo”, the train to offer affordable transport facilities not only for the residents of Sukkur and Rohri, but also the surrounding areas.

According to detail, this significant development emerged through the joint efforts of the Sukkur District Council and Pakistan Railways.

Kumail Shah stated that the train will operate thrice a day between Sukkur and Rohri, offering citizens an affordable and comfortable means of transport.

It is not only a gift for the public, but also a revolutionary step, he added.

The residents of Sukkur, Rohri, Pano Aqil, Sangi and Gosarji will benefit from this train service, he said.
