HYDERABAD: Police have obtained another CCTV footage of the vehicle in which DawnNews Karachi reporter Khawar Husain Bajwa was found dead last week.

His car was parked outside a restaurant off Hyderabad road in Sanghar, and he was later found dead with a bullet wound to the head, and a weapon in his hand.

The newly unearthed footage reportedly shows that no person was in the vicinity of the vehicle, apart from Mr Khawar.

Police have also recorded statement of a nearby tyre shop’s operator after ascertaining that the deceased had obtained a pin to take out his mobile phone’s SIM to remove it.

The police officials working with a fact-finding team said that upon reaching the restaurant, the journalist went to the shop at around 9pm and obtained a pin to open his phone’s tray.

The shop operator, Mr Roshan, is said to have told the police that he returned the pin after removing the SIM. “The [removed] SIM, however, could not be found,” said a police source on Tuesday.
