Hamas has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to an illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank, calling it a “provocative move” that underscores Israel’s settlement expansion policies, Al Jazeera.

The group said the visit to Ofra settlement near Ramallah defies international law and resolutions, and legitimises settlement building in the West Bank.

Hamas warned that the visit would embolden settler violence against Palestinians and represents a “green light” for further land seizures, forced displacement and annexation.

It described the move as part of broader Israeli plans to take full control of the West Bank, pledging more escalation and confrontation as long as the occupation continues.
